What’s in my Gym Makeup Bag?

In order to get a parking spot at the University I work for, I go in and workout at 6:30 AM. While this may seem extreme, I promise you it is not. This guarantees me a parking spot the whole day right outside my office. This means I get ready in the gym and put on my makeup after I get out of the shower.

I have a few things I take with me everyday and it gives me enough coverage and the look I am going for.

Facewipes to remove any dirt/sweat that might get into my pores

Here you have OPI pink fingernail polish, polka polish, and top coat.

Lips include a Milani lip pencil, MAC lipstick, and NYX butter gloss. I change up the colors, but it’s pretty much the same combo.

I also have brushes shadow, crease, blush and bronzer. There’s a rose salve and a pair of tweezers. There’s an eyebrow pencil, a pencil sharpener, bobby pins, and a highlight and conceal concealer.

 

That’s it, all I need for a full face and a great look when I get out of the locker room!

WLW- Kale Chips and Miranda Kerr Workout Style

Happy weight loss Wednesday. I have two things to talk about today.

Starting with the Kale chips. I made some and learned what not to do.

You should spritz them with olive oil. SPRITZ! I doused mine in vegetable oil. Trust me they are not going to be crispy that way. A little goes a long way. My boyfriend says I have a weakness for chips, so my goal is to make healthier ones. Here are some more I am going to try.

Zucchini Chips

Carrot Chips

Beet Chips

Eggplant Chips

The kale chips were good. They just weren’t crispy. I am going to try again with a lot less oil and I think it will be successful. Tonight we try Rutabaga with Rosemary and Garlic. I will let you know how that turns out.

My last weight loss Wednesday nugget is how awesome Miranda Kerr looks just out running. I know I look pained, sweaty, tired, but not this gorgeous. She is a good inspiration for us.

Here’s your motivation for today!

As I sit here sad because I have burnt my tongue on my oatmeal I am making some major overhauls to my life. Okay, it’s not that major, but hear me out.

One – I suck. I admit that I suck and now that I have told you, I will tell you why I suck.

I committed to #bloggersWLW when it became a thing and I was so excited to be a part of it, and then I was a dud. As a writer sometimes I lose touch with reality, and with two jobs in addition it can be easy. It’s not an excuse though and I know that.

I haven’t neglected my fitness, so why neglect blogging about it?

In addition to weight loss wed I am getting my blog back on track with Nail of the Week Monday – Tuesday Mini Favs and Friday Ask the Youtuber. Anyone who wants to be interviewed as that youtuber please, ask me!

Okay so on to the bananas and cream, the reason you’re here, the wlw post!

I have been doing this.

It’s 25 minutes, I get up and bust my bum in the morning. I have the videos, but you can actually find some lovely people doing it for you on Youtube. I say, it doesn’t matter who you work out with just that you work out.

You can actually see their progression as they go. I just wanted to give you an opportunity to try it out for yourself before you commit to buying anything.

So with T -25 – MyFitnessPal – and walking a very hyper Rebel down a very steep mountain after work my butt should be in shape soon. I still love to eat though! Comment down below how you keep from overeating at meals or having extra snacks. As always, thank you for reading!

Weight Loss Wednesday Golden Globe Makeup Edition

I am buried beneath snow at the house and couldn’t go to work today. It is frustrating so I am thinking of filming a couple of new videos. I have an eye makeup look I did for Kaley Cuoco’s Golden Globe makeup that I will put at the end of the post that you can try. It has nothing to do with weight loss Wednesday, but it is a lot of fun!!

So here is the weight loss Wednesday post for today. I have not really lost anymore weight, but I have been eating fairly well. There haven’t been any snacks in between meals which cuts back on my calorie intake. I have been trying to drink more water.

Weight Loss Wednesday – Where did the Time Go?

Hey everyone, it’s weight loss hump day again! I have been keeping a close eye on snacking, and trying not to dive into anything super unhealthy. Of course there are the quick fixes, like the corn dogs we had for dinner. However, we were going to also have some onion rings, and I read on the bag that FIVE of them were 230 calories.

Kenny rightfully said we will have Sun Chips!

Good night, that is 3 servings of chips in FIVE onion rings. It just goes to show, if you don’t pay attention, you never know how many calories you are putting in your body.

That being said I should make it my goal to clean it up a bit next week. In the name of full disclosure, this is what I had today. 🙂

 

Cinnamon Bun Sugar Free Oatmeal with One Spoon of Peanut Butter {this gave me heartburn that was so terrible I clutched my breast most of the day}
Coffee with Sweet n Low and 2 %
A roast beef sandwich on wheat with light  mayo and cheddar cheese
Some cheese – its around 25
A bottle of 2% milk to try and get around the heartburn

Cinnamon coffee with sugar free creamer and sweet n low
Two Corn dogs with light mayo and ketchup {sorry if that’s gross}
15 French Onion Sun chips

195 too many calories
20 grams too much fat
16 grams too much sugar

 

So I didn’t overdo it too much, but today was my take a break from working out before your body quits on you day, so I didn’t burn off that fat. Ugh, drives me nuts.

Well They Aren’t Chips – Weight Loss Wednesday

I know I said today would be a post about facial care, but I remembered it’s Weight Loss Wednesday!

I am so excited to be a part of the beauty bloggers initiative to get healthy and lose weight in 2014. I have already met some great girls through the beauty blogging world and I know I will meet many more to gab with and collaborate with. Expect every Wednesday to be a post about healthy eating, fitness, motivation or just something that shows you my progress.

It’s About This or That

I don’t have a lot of weight to lose, my journey is more about making good decisions. I made the conscious decision to lose ten pounds starting in October and I am happy to say I have lost 9. I have an ideal goal weight, and I intend to keep that weight off. I didn’t change much, just lowered portion sizes, limited snacking, and committed to doing at least a little exercise a day.

This was one of my snacks at work today. It was  right beside a bag of Doritos. The Doritos were 140 calories. The two packs of pretzels with cheese were 70 each. The difference, is the fat content.
Doritos – 8 grams
Pretzels with cheese – 5 grams

Don’t get me wrong, it isn’t the best snack I could have. I was faced with a choice. The Doritos would have been more satisfying to my taste buds, but the pretzels had less fat. The exact same amount of calories were consumed, but I feel better.

If you look at the health ratio of those pretzels against a cup of grapes you will see that the grade is probably 3 out of 10. It is all about making choices. Don’t have a second helping of french fries, don’t finish that plate if you are full, and don’t choose to eat Twinkies while watching TV while you can have a few filling and healthier nuts. Actually didn’t they discontinue Twinkies? I need to research that… anywhoo..

Everyday you choose whether to eat this or that, there is no magical weight loss pill, drink or diet. It all comes down to a matter of choices.
