Weight Loss Wednesday Golden Globe Makeup Edition

I am buried beneath snow at the house and couldn’t go to work today. It is frustrating so I am thinking of filming a couple of new videos. I have an eye makeup look I did for Kaley Cuoco’s Golden Globe makeup that I will put at the end of the post that you can try. It has nothing to do with weight loss Wednesday, but it is a lot of fun!!

So here is the weight loss Wednesday post for today. I have not really lost anymore weight, but I have been eating fairly well. There haven’t been any snacks in between meals which cuts back on my calorie intake. I have been trying to drink more water.

Here are your inspiring graphics for the day!!

Weight Loss Wednesday – Where did the Time Go?

Hey everyone, it’s weight loss hump day again! I have been keeping a close eye on snacking, and trying not to dive into anything super unhealthy. Of course there are the quick fixes, like the corn dogs we had for dinner. However, we were going to also have some onion rings, and I read on the bag that FIVE of them were 230 calories.

Kenny rightfully said we will have Sun Chips!

Good night, that is 3 servings of chips in FIVE onion rings. It just goes to show, if you don’t pay attention, you never know how many calories you are putting in your body.

That being said I should make it my goal to clean it up a bit next week. In the name of full disclosure, this is what I had today. ūüôā

Cinnamon Bun Sugar Free Oatmeal with One Spoon of Peanut Butter {this gave me heartburn that was so terrible I clutched my breast most of the day}
Coffee with Sweet n Low and 2 %
A roast beef sandwich on wheat with light  mayo and cheddar cheese
Some cheese – its around 25
A bottle of 2% milk to try and get around the heartburn

Cinnamon coffee with sugar free creamer and sweet n low
Two Corn dogs with light mayo and ketchup {sorry if that’s gross}
15 French Onion Sun chips

According to myfitnesspal.com, and here is my link if you want to be friends there –¬†http://www.myfitnesspal.com/food/diary/gonein14days. It is a great way to keep track, ¬†I had
195 too many calories
20 grams too much fat
16 grams too much sugar

So I didn’t overdo it too much, but today was my take a break from working out before your body quits on you day, so I didn’t burn off that fat. Ugh, drives me nuts.

Hope your day was great!!

The Fifteen Dollar Mission on a Rainy Evening!

It’s was raining last night, being in a 10 year relationship, and ¬†huge homebodies we stayed in. So, I was out getting pizza and decided to challenge myself to see how far I could stretch fifteen dollars beauty wise at Walmart. The answer I found, was not very far.

I went in optimistic, then I had to deal with a lot of people standing in my way so I could not even see the makeup. I attempted to wait patiently without shoving my way in front of them and making a scene. I wasn’t on a time limit really, but I didn’t want to be in Walmart forever. I successfully spent less than $15.00 but I only got four things.

I wanted to get things that I would use, and not just buy the cheapest things they had. I could have gotten a ton of Wet n Wild for that $15.00 but it wouldn’t be things I need.

So what did I get??

Revlon – Lash Potion
Matte FX – Nail Striper
Hard Candy – 12 hr Eye Color Pencil – Pink Lady
Rimmel – 60 second nail polish – Blue Eyed Beauty

I ¬†have seen several YouTubers, and bloggers talk about this. One girl on Twitter actually told me she wasn’t impressed with it. I am stubborn so I have to see it for myself. It was on sale for $4.97, which was another selling point.

This was the coolest thing that I bought. A Matte Nail Striper from Salon Perfect. It’s exciting because it will help create the fun matte stripes, and tips without the struggle. It was $1.98 and I might go back for more colors, because they had a lot! I look forward to trying this over the top of my next purchase!

This Rimmel 60 second nail polish was $1.50 and a pretty color called Blue Eyed Girl.

Lastly I picked up something I am not sure about.

Hard Candy 12 Hour Shadow Pencil in Pink Lady

It was the most expensive thing I purchased at $5.00. This is a pretty pink color. It says it stays crease free for 12 hours. Of course I am going to put it to the test. So there you are, that’s how far I can stretch $15.00 at Walmart, I challenge you to do the same thing!!

Well They Aren’t Chips – Weight Loss Wednesday

I know I said today would be a post about facial care, but I remembered it’s Weight Loss Wednesday!

I am so excited to be a part of the beauty bloggers initiative to get healthy and lose weight in 2014. I have already met some great girls through the beauty blogging world and I know I will meet many more to gab with and collaborate with. To start off with if you want to join us you can go to the lovely creator’s blog post about it here –

In addition you will see all the other wonderful beauty bloggers who are taking part in these great weight loss Wednesdays. Furthermore we will be in the Twitterverse talking all about it with the hash tag #bloggersWLW so you can follow along. Expect every Wednesday to be a post about healthy eating, fitness, motivation or just something that shows you my progress.

It’s About This or That

I don’t have a lot of weight to lose, my journey is more about making good decisions. I made the conscious decision to lose ten pounds starting in October and I am happy to say I have lost 9. I have an ideal goal weight, and I intend to keep that weight off. I didn’t change much, just lowered portion sizes, limited snacking, and committed to doing at least a little exercise a day.

This was one of my snacks at work today. It was  right beside a bag of Doritos. The Doritos were 140 calories. The two packs of pretzels with cheese were 70 each. The difference, is the fat content.
Doritos – 8 grams
Pretzels with cheese – 5 grams

Don’t get me wrong, it isn’t the best snack I could have. I was faced with a choice. The Doritos would have been more satisfying to my taste buds, but the pretzels had less fat. The exact same amount of calories were consumed, but I feel better.

If you look at the health ratio of those pretzels against a cup of grapes you will see that the grade is probably 3 out of 10. It is all about making choices. Don’t have a second helping of french fries, don’t finish that plate if you are full, and don’t choose to eat Twinkies while watching TV while you can have a few filling and healthier nuts. Actually didn’t they discontinue Twinkies? I need to research that… anywhoo..

Everyday you choose whether to eat this or that, there is no magical weight loss pill, drink or diet. It all comes down to a matter of choices.

So I Went to CVS Today…

Look at that! I went in for tampons and this happened.

I know it’s blurry, but we are about to go in close, I promise. I have been wanting to try the Milani Blush, and it looked so pretty I had to get it. I am a sucker for a pretty grey polish so I had to grab up that Sally Hansen polish, and the Snow Globe looked so pretty I had to get it as well. So let’s check out the things I bought.

1. Maybelline 24 Hour Color Tattoo – Just Beige – Limited Edition Eye Shadow

So I am sad that this is a limited edition because I do not like the metallic ones. I feel like the fallout is terrible. I have been looking for these in solid colors. There are a few gurus who say these are dupes for MAC paint pots, so I am excited to try them and see what I think.

2. Rimmel London Kate Moss Matte Lasting Finish Lipstick # 113

This is a peachy nude lipstick I picked up thinking I needed some more nudes in my collection. My first impression is that I will need to wear a lip gloss over it to make it look less like the paint pot pictured above. I will have to wear it for a day to know for sure. It smells interesting, not exactly good, but not exactly bad.

3. Rimmel London Fix & Perfect Primer

I am excited to try this as well. It was the last one they had. My CVS is always out of brow products and primer. I had picked up the Loreal one and it is more of a silicone consistency which I haven’t decided if I like or not. As you can see the formula is different with this one. I will keep you posted!

4. Milani Baked Blush РDolce Pink

I am pretty sure I heard about these from Emily on Beauty Broadcast and I love her! I wanted to try these, and can’t wait to see what they look like on!

5. Sally Hansen Complete Salon Manicure in Snow Globe and Greige

First of all, I love Sally Hansen Complete Salon Manicure polishes no matter how long the name is! They dry quickly, go on smoothly, and have a thick brush which I love. The one swipe is something I am a fan of.

Now these colors! The Snow Globe looks so pretty in the bottle, and it is the same on! The Greige is a great brownish – grey color that I am already in love with. Together they are great!

The ring finger has Lincoln Park After Dark from OPI, which I found at Walmart if you believe that.

So there it is my CVS drug store makeup obsession lives on. Have you tried any of these products? Comment below and let me know what you think of them!

Tomorrow’s post will look at the steps it takes for my face to be bedtime ready!! Thanks for reading!

How Much Can One Say About C.O. Biglow Rose Salve?

If you are me, you can say a lot about it, because I love it! IMG_20140103_095659303First a little bit about the company C.O. Bigelow

This company was founded in 1838, and was originally in New York where a cat named Allegra was able to roam the store and mingle with customers. This is of course, from Wikipedia so take it with a grain of lip scrub.

I tried to make this part more exciting with an exclamation point! Did it work? Anywhoo, Rose Salve contains

Lanolin Oil
(Cotton) Seed Oil
Rosa Canina Fruit Extract

The only thing I know out of that list is petrolatum, which I just realized is not Vaseline, so I know none of them.

Something interesting is that Rose Oil isn’t listed, and it is the main part of the Salve.

PRICE – $5.50 from Bath and Body works

Consistency – ooey gooey – no really touch it

Scent – there is a light rose scent, but it doesn’t last

I use it on my lips. I keep it under my pillow so that I can use it in the middle of the night, and it soothes my dry lips all winter. I have been known to put it on my cheeks if they get really wind blown and chapped, which happens despite the copious amounts of moisturizer I use morning and night.
What else can you use it for?

lips, face, cuticles, elbows, knees, chapped or very dry skin patches…

I feel lost without this little tin of balm, which begs the question why on Earth do I not have more than one?

What is your favorite lip balm, salve, or product? Comment below and let me know!
